Having a blog is hard! You have to, you know, remember to blog and post stuff. Come up with topics that interest people (in my case, Moms) and not sound overly dramatic, overly boring, overly put together like everything in your life is perfect… or just overly excessive about anything. When I announced almost a year & a half ago that I was starting a family blog, I was so excited! I was eager, ambitious, full of ideas, and ready to empower Moms everywhere. But the problem with blogs is that they require a lot of time. And while I love writing, my days have been running together like crazy. The other day I looked at my site, and was like how have I not posted anything since August and it’s November already??
The life of a Mom right! I got caught in the trap of busyness. It happens! I keep saying I need to do a better job of managing my time and the extra projects I take on (because for some reason I just can’t say NO)…but who am I kidding? With a full-time job, being a Mom to five, overly involved-in-everything kids, and being a part-time college student working on my master’s… busyness is my life!
BUT, I miss blogging! This was my way to exhale, my Woosaw (if you’ve ever seen Bad Boys II, lol)! Which is probably why I’ve been running around full of anxiety because I haven’t taken a moment for myself, in the way that I love: blogging, or really just writing in general. So without further ado, I have an announcement to make: I am crawling out of my hole and will be consistently blogging again! (Yay me!!) So because I’ve been gone for a while, I’ve returned with a peace offering.
Since Thanksgiving is next week, here’s a little something from my family to yours that I know you’ll enjoy. Two delicious recipes! And not just any recipes, TWO DESSERT RECIPES!! (Keyword: Dessert) The first is my Rum Cake that I’ve made both with and without alcohol. (I prefer the alcohol version, but to each his own!) The second is a German Chocolate Cake recipe that I found years ago in the lost pages of Pinterest. I’ll forewarn you, the step-by-step process is intense, but it’s sooo worth the wait! Until next week, and I promise I’ll be back, be blessed!
